Le Métier de Beauté Bondi Beach Colour Core Moisture Stain Lipstick and Fraise Crème Lip Crème

Le Métier de Beauté Colour Core Moisture Stain Lipstick ($32) has a creamy hydrating formula that delivers essential moisture and full-coverage color to lips, while maintaining the lasting power of a lip stain. It has "lip-loving moisturizers" in its formula, including jojoba, lanolin, and shea butter, to keep the lips soft and supple. The full-coverage color looks real, not too opaque as some of the recently introduced saturated lip colors look to me.

When Dustin Lujan crafted my makeup on Saturday, he reached for a different shade than the one we ended up using. He had given me smoky eyes, and he rightly wanted a neutral lip. He reached for a very light neutral pink and showed it to me on his hand. I don't use lip testers - ever - so I usually buy the artist's choice and we apply the new product.

The only problem with Dustin's gorgeous choice was that I don't go to work with a smoky eye, and I wanted something I could wear every day for a little color. I selected Bondi Beach, slightly darker than the color he chose, and he seemed fine with my choice.

Then Dustin selected one of Le Métier de Beauté's Lip Crème ($36) gloss hybrids. Believe it or not, I have never bought a Lip Crème gloss! I always selected the company's Sheer Brilliance Lip Glosses, so I was game for something new. Dustin wanted to "warm me up," so he choose Fraise Crème, remarking on the combination of cool (lipstick) and warm (lip gloss). We were on!

Lip Crème is a hybrid of gloss and lipstick. It combines chic color, intense emollients, and antioxidants to soothe and nourish. Lip Crème provides long-lasting intense color with added shine and gloss, creating a lacquer-sheen finish. It has a creamy texture and easy-glide formula, and it's packed with vitamins and antioxidants to keep your lips feeling smooth and supple. It's a great lip gloss to wear without lipstick underneath. I need more colors - pronto!

Dustin let me apply both colors straight from the tube, and I was very pleased with the results. I had a pretty lip color with a little pop, and it didn't overwhelm the spring smoky eye he had created.

I took a swatch photo of my new lip colors in full sun. It shows Bondi Beach (rose that leans blue) at the top, Fraise Crème below it, and the mixture of the two at the bottom of my arm. Aren't they gorgeous? I like each alone, but I think the combination is stunning - a rose that pops. I told you, Dustin is a genius.

Now I need to go back to the Le Métier de Beauté counter and pick out some more Lip Crème glosses! I have a new love.

You can purchase Le Métier de Beauté at Bergdorf Goodman (where you can usually find Dustin), Neiman Marcus, and some Nordstrom stores. All have online sites.
